Out With the Old and In with ― the Old

Technology is changing corporate communications, but storytelling still matters. Read our Top 10 stories of 2025 to get your juices flowing in the New Year.

Strong writing skills were very much in demand in 2025. We edited Elon Musk’s No Good Very Bad memo to government employees and offered advice to CEOs trying to communicate about a crisis without making it worse. 

But it was a year of uncertainty for communicators. Jobs were lost, others reinvented. The push for artificial intelligence made some writers nervous.

And yet, with all the handwringing about the future of writing (we did some of that ourselves), the year ended on a hopeful note. The Wall Street Journal reported that the percentage of U.S. LinkedIn job postings containing the word “storyteller” had doubled in the past year.
