Airports & Aviation

Airports are like small cities. People come and go. Commerce happens. Things run smoothly. And don’t. An airport’s fortunes – like any city’s – rise and fall on the state of the economy, the care and feeding of its infrastructure, the talented people who work there and the experiences of those passing through.

With the possible exception of health care, few industries bore the brunt of the COVID-19 pandemic more than aviation. Almost overnight, air travel went from record-setting numbers to virtually none. Travel dropped by 96%, grounding airlines and leaving airports empty.

Before the pandemic, we launched the first brand journalism site of any airport in the nation at Pittsburgh International Airport. When the coronavirus struck, bringing aviation to its knees, PIT’s Blue Sky News platform became the airport’s essential channel for news, aviation trends, updates on COVID safety measures, and the slow but steady recovery of the travel industry.

We’ve worked with airlines, airports and other travel-related industries on such issues as employee engagement, DE&I, crisis communications, media training and thought leadership.

We can help. We’ve helped utilities tell better stories, build digital platforms, respond to crises, and engage their audiences internally and externally.

At Denver Water, the utility’s communicators developed a business case for better storytelling that aimed to showcase their expertise, increase their share of the conversation around water and take us behind the scenes of what it takes to run a utility responsible for one of the world’s most precious resources.

And to what end: Because when it comes to energy, utilities must prepare for some difficult conversations: about supply and demand, about safety, about climate change and alternative energies. We can help you do that.
